Chiropractic FAQs

  • Just wear something you are comfortable in when lying on the chiropractic benches. Treatment is usually done through clothing so there is no need to remove clothes, other than perhaps a jacket and shoes.

  • There are many techniques used in both chiropractic and osteopathic care, and some are very similar. At Ashtead Chiropractic we use a gentle and holistic approach called SACRO OCCIPITAL TECHNIQUE (SOT) which can be effective for all ages including babies, the elderly, and expectant mums.

  • There is no rule of thumb here and there are many factors to consider: how long has a patient had the condition; how severe the condition is; or how a patient responds to treatment, for example. Once a condition has been successfully treated, many patients choose to continue with regular visits to keep themselves on track; these can range from every 3 to 6 months.

  • If uncertain about chiropractic, Ashtead Chiropractic offers a 15-minute complimentary appointment giving you the opportunity to chat with one of our chiropractors who will discuss your condition and explain how chiropractic works. Should you wish to go ahead with treatment, we can then book you a 45-minute New Patient appointment in the near future.

  • Our gentle and holistic approach is suitable for everyone of ALL ages including expectant mums and babies.
